Portal to the Ancestors Scrying Mirror

Our Portal to the Ancestors scrying mirrors are lovingly crafted from vintage frames, working with the spirit of the frame to rebirth it into a partner in divination. These mirrors feature a simple yet elegant frame in gold or silver tone metal. This style of frame is often a popular selection for housing photos of the ancestors; they are simple and accessible, yet beautiful and elegant enough to offer a beautiful home for the photos of our ancestors. Many homes have a spot on the wall for ancestor photos (housed in similar frames) as a sort of hanging ancestor altar to remember and honor our Dead. This connection creates a familiarity between these mirrors and the realms of the Dead; they prefer to scry with spirits of the Dead, the ancestors, and the chthonic deities closely linked with those realms, such as Hel, Persephone, and Hekate.

We have several styles available:
Large Black and Gold: features a gold-tone metal frame with a black inlay; it is 5.25x7.25 inches while the scrying surface measures 4.25x6.5 inches.
Mini Black and Gold: this mirror is an antique, calling in additional death energy, it features a gold-tone metal frame with a black inlay and small kickstand on the back; it is 1.5x2 inches while the scrying surface measures 1x1.5 inches.
Metal Golden Window: features a gold-tone metal frame with a gold-tone metal framing mat embossed with a floral pattern that reveals the scrying surface; it is 4.5x3.5 inches.
Ripple Golden Window: features a gold-tone metal frame with a golden, hammered framing mat that reveals the scrying surface; it is 5.75x6.75 inches while the scrying surface measures 2.75x3.75 inches.

All our scrying mirrors are prepared magically and with intention throughout each step of the crafting process. We begin preparing our materials by cleansing each element with a hand-blended mix of purifying waters. Once the scrying surface has been prepared, it is first marked with a handcrafted bindrune to promote psychic clarity and protection. This bindrune is carefully blended into the deep black of the scrying mirror using 3 separate layers of paint. This ensures an evenly black surface while infusing the mirror with the magic of the number 3, known for its mystical properties, and gently diffusing the magic of the bindrune throughout the entire scrying surface. Once each element has been lovingly prepared and assembled, every mirror is washed with a tea for increased psychic clarity and protection made from hand-blended mixture of herbs centering around Mugwort.
