Aphrodite Euploia Devotional Necklace

Our Aphrodite Euploia devotional necklace is handcrafted in Lady Aphrodite's honor, that those who honor her may bring her with them as they go about their day. This necklace honors her in her epithet Aphrodite Euploia, Lady of Fair Voyage. The Temple of Aphrodite in Euploia was a famous pilgrimage site for those who worshiped the goddess of love. Sailors invoked Aphrodite Euploia as an aspect of her as a sea goddess, praying for safe travels and calm seas. This temple held a famous statue of Aphrodite of Knidos and even included couches hidden amongst the bushes to allow people to make love in private. When you wear her necklace, may she bless you with favorable winds to speed your endeavors and calm waters, that you may avoid unnecessary difficulties!

This necklace features a rosary-style chain dotted with miniature glass pearls, for self-love and beauty. It includes sections of 5 small glass pearls: the number 5 is sacred to Aphrodite and embodies stable harmony. A single small glass pearl separates each section. In the center is a large handmade bead; it's packed with rose petals that look like they're suspended in water. This bead is finished with floral gold-tone stainless steel bead caps on both ends. A small length of chain is attached on either end of the bead, with three additional drops hanging from the chain. In the center, there is a vintage brass conch shell. Framing this shell on either side are small beaded drops, including a small prismatic glass bead with an additional small glass pearl hanging below it. Prismatic glass is included here to call in the Ouranic light reflecting off the ocean's waves. 

This necklace measure 21 inches in length.

This necklace is on the daintier side. It features our 'Femme' chain, 3mm gold-tone stainless steel figaro chain, separating all sections of small glass pearls.

This necklace is made using primarily gold-tone stainless steel, which is tarnish resistant and can withstand greater exposure to water, sunlight, and heat without damage. However, it is possible for these metals to tarnish with  prolonged use; this can be avoided with care. To avoid tarnishing, avoid contact with liquids whenever possible and let any cosmetics, lotions, or perfumes/colognes dry completely before putting on your necklace. Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Keeping your jewelry in a sealed container, such as a jewelry box or plastic bag, can prevent tarnishing by limiting exposure to air, sunlight, heat, and moisture. This is best done if air is pushed out of any plastic bag before sealing and with something included to remove moisture, such as a silica pack or anti-tarnish strip. This is not an exhaustive list of anti-tarnish measures, nor are these measures a guarantee that tarnishing will not occur when worn.
