These vintage offering trays are each dedicated to a different epithet of the goddess of love, Aphrodite, and the multiple facets that make her the goddess that she is.

- Doritis (the Bountiful): This aspect calls upon the many gifts Aphrodite shares with us: laughter, love, flowers, and beauty. This dish calls her in with its shell motif, echoing the bounty of the oceans. It’s made with milk glass and measures 7 x 6.4 x 1.5 inches. Made by Anchor Hocking company.

- Aphrodite Limenia refers to the aspect of the goddess who oversees the harbor, providing shelter from storms and bringing abundance to those who brave her waters. This cut glass dish features a vibrant blue tone reminiscent of the harbor's waters under a bright noon sun. It includes one handle for easy maneuvering and a motif of stars cut into the glass. This vintage piece is the LE Smith brand Quintec pattern aqua colonial glass handled dish, made in 1960.
It measures 6.75 x 5.5 x 2.5 inches.

- Aphrodite Anaduomenê refers to a representation of the Goddess of Love emerging from the sea foam and riding on a scallop shell. Aphrodite was born out of the Primordial Waters before the beginning of the world and into a sunless sky of perpetual night. Shells protect that which is precious and fragile inside, a lesson from the goddess to protect one's heart. This glass crystal bowl has a motif of roses in the middle with a scalloped rim calling in the aspect of Aphrodite riding on her scallop shell. Like her aspect of the sea, the clear glass has a slight bluish overtone in certain lights. The bowl measures 6.75 x 6.75 x 2.25 inches.

- Aphrodite Antheia  refers to the aspect of the goddess of love that is delicate and beautiful like a newly blooming rose. In Roman tradition, the rose represents death and rebirth. In this way, she helps us move through periods of stagnancy or death and help return blooming life in spiritual rebirth. The glass crystal bowl has two small handles on either side upon which the rose leaf motif continues up with a triple rose in the middle. The bowl measures 6.5 x 5.5 x 2.5 inches.

- Eustephanos (Richly Crowned)
Aphrodite's mythology says that when she arose from the sea foam, an intricately crafted golden crown was placed on her head before she was adorned in necklaces and heavenly clothes. Here, she was covered in violets before meeting all the other gods. This tray was made in Japan and made by Mikasa in their bone porcelain style. The purple center heart calls back to Aphrodite's violets and the metallic gold rim to her being crowned and bedecked in jewels. The tray measures 6.5 x 6 x 1.5 inches.

- Kepois (of the Garden)
Aphrodite kepois translates into Aphrodite of the gardens as she was a patron god of vegetation and garden success. Aphrodite of the Gardens is also linked to her associations either with her male aspect, Aphroditos or her child, Hermaphroditus. Aphrodite is the protector and guide for children, young adults and the newly married, ensuring their success as they grow, as she would any plant in her garden.  This glass bow is Jeanette brand, in their mid-century Wedgwood inspired Hellenic series. It features a green band with white detailing of Greco-Roman figures between trees. It features a gold rim. We currently have two available: Kepois Small and Kepois Large. Kepois small measures 4.5 inches in diameter and 2 inches tall. Kepois large measures 8.75 inches in diameter and 3 inches tall.

- Ourania (Heavenly): This aspect calls upon the heavenly face of Aphrodite, closely associated with the doves who pulls her chariot and the skies whose rain feeds her seas. This bowl is a vintage Lenox brand piece in rich, creamy colored ivory porcelain. It features a raised rose motif, with a ribbon running between the two sets of roses, and a gilded gold lip. It measures 5.5 inches in diameter and 2 inches in depth.

For an additional way to work with this piece, please consider our Aphrodite prayer card. It features a fully illustrated front, hand-drawn by one of your local tricksters, while the back includes a prayer written by your other local trickster in the Lady's honor. The prayer can be used to consecrate this piece and deepen your connection with Aphrodite, while the card itself is an excellent altar card and portable way to keep Aphrodite close to your heart as you go about your day.
