Eros Floating Altar Shelf

These vintage floating shelves are ideal for altars to Eros and those closest to him: Psyche and Aphrodite the Mother.

Eros the Firstborn: This shelf is made with heavy ceramic and depicts Eros in his Cupid form with a glaze reminiscent of dark wood, echoing Eros's birth from Primordial Chaos. It features a grape and grapevine motif, honoring how Eros is often part of traditional Bacchic processions and a companion of Dionysos. His wings frame his face from below, while the top of the shelf is crowned with a gentle flower. This shelf is perfect for use as a planter to house living offerings, as well as more traditional forms of offerings. It measures 7.5 x 5 x 3 inches. 

Eros the Lightbringer Shelf: This shelf is made with bonded alabaster and depicts Eros in his Cupid form, wings unfolding behind him as he holds his crown to his head. Inside the crown is a small divot for a taper candle to be held, or other small offerings. The back of this shelf includes attachments for easy hanging; please be mindful when hanging that this shelf is weighty due to it being made from alabaster. This piece is an alabaster recreation of the 1980's Putti chalkware sconce by Lawrence Studios. Some small scuffs are present on one of the knees, but it is otherwise in excellent condition. It measures 9.5 x 7 x 2.5 inches. 

As animists, we find second-hand items have a unique potency when used in altar-crafting. These items, once cherished by their original owners, have since been given up for one reason or another.
