The Beloved Lovers rosary is handmade in devotion to Eros and Psyche for a healthy, loving relationship between equals that uplifts and supports both partners. The pattern of the beads in the rosary tell the tale of Eros and Psyche. As each bead was wrapped by hand, they were sung love songs. The tale of Eros and Psyche was whispered to the rosary as it was worked and awoken, each bead taught what it represents in the tale. Wear or pray with this rosary to call in the divine Love and Wisdom of the Beloved Lovers, that they may show you the path to a harmonious, loving partnership rooted in mutual respect between equals.

The tale begins with the first section of 4 rose quartz beads: 4 for balanced love between equals, rose quartz for pure, honest love. The first bead in these sections is Eros the Lover, used to sending Love to others but receiving none. Psyche the Lover is second, who gives her whole heart to her family and receives only envy in return. When they meet and fall in love, Eros the Lover becomes Eros the Loved in the Third bead; the fourth bead, Psyche the Loved, shows her returned affections. Their blissful Honeymoon grows ever more tenuous as the Psyche's jealous sisters sew doubt in her heart, fed by the shadows Eros must cloak himself in when they meet. The Dark Night of Doubt that continues to creep in, slowly but surely, is represented by black river stones that separate each rose quartz section. Black, for the shadows that hide the secrets the lovers keep from each other, and river stone, for the flowing tears caused by doubt and mistrust. In the center of the rosary, sitting at the back of the neck at the fulcrum of their relationship, is a real gold-dyed freshwater pearl, representing the Lamp Psyche must light to reveal their True Selves so their relationship can continue to grow and deepen through a foundation of honesty. Once the Lamp is lit, they are able to see each other truly, but must suffer together and rely on each other's strength to fully escape the Dark Night. They learn how to work together even in hardship as Psyche completes her trials, with black river stone beads continuing to separate each section; the highs of their love separated by the lows of her Trials. After the Lamp has been lit and their True Selves revealed, each rose quartz section changes in meaning. The 1st and 2nd bead are Eros the Lover and Eros the Loved, finally united and made whole. They stand hand in hand with the 3rd and 4th bead, Psyche the Lover and Psyche the Loved: whole, in both harmony and balance with her divine partner, who both accepts her love and returns it whole-heartedly. Psyche has now achieved apotheosis, standing at Eros's side as his honored equal. This journey is reflected again in the vertical section. Two rose quartz beads, representing Eros the Lover and Eros the Loved, begin this section before moving into the Dark Night of Doubt, with two black river stone beads framing each side of the golden pearl Lamp. The chain ends with two more beads, representing Psyche the Lover and Psyche the Loved, whole and complete as her True Self as surely as Eros is.

In the center of the rosary is a large heart frame with a vintage brass stamping of Eros suspended in the center, in flight with his bow and arrow in hand. With movement, this cross-piece chimes like bells for a purifying and protective song when worn. The pendant is a large butterfly, the symbol of Psyche the Goddess who has achieved apotheosis.

We also offer prayer cards designed to be prayed with this rosary. One features Eros on the front and focuses on his half of the tale, while the other features Psyche and her side of the story. They are available in our shop currently.

Each rosary measures 25 inches around the neck and 9 inches from the top of the cross-piece to the bottom of the pendant

The chain of this rosary is made using entirely gold-tone stainless steel, which is tarnish resistant and can withstand greater exposure to water, sunlight, and heat without damage. The center piece and pendant are made of gold-tone alloys and brass. It is possible for these metals to tarnish with prolonged use; this can be avoided with care. To avoid tarnishing, avoid contact with liquids whenever possible and let any cosmetics, lotions, or perfumes/colognes dry completely before putting on your necklace. Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Keeping your jewelry in a sealed container, such as a jewelry box or plastic bag, can prevent tarnishing by limiting exposure to air, sunlight, heat, and moisture. This is best done if air is pushed out of any plastic bag before sealing and with something included to remove moisture, such as a silica pack or anti-tarnish strip. This is not an exhaustive list of anti-tarnish measures, nor are these measures a guarantee that tarnishing will not occur when worn.
