The Golden Grower rosary is handcrafted in devotion to Dionysus, Lovely Lord of the Vine and Wandering Wildling. This necklace is made with sections of 7 amethyst beads strung on gold-tone chain. Between these sections are handmade and hand-wrapped resin beads in our own design, filled with real moss and copper leaf. The cross-piece of this rosary is a vintage stamping, featuring two bunches of grapes in equal balance on a set of scales. Completing this rosary is a broad, golden pendant of a leaf skeleton. Wear or pray with this rosary to call in Dionysus’s powers of self-discovery and wildness for a helping hand growing into your own golden majesty.

The number 7 is often associated with Dionysus, especially in his transcendence. Amethyst was commonly used in amulets and talismans in ancient Mediterranean societies, as well as the beads being reminiscent of grapes in appearance. The handmade moss beads call in the wildness and vegetative qualities of Dionysus on the mountainside surrounded by his Maenads. The cross piece, showing two bunches of grapes weighed equally on a scale, representing nature’s bounty being equally valuable on both the wild and orderly sides of society’s scale. The pendant is in the shape of a leaf skeleton, or what is left of the leaf’s vein structure after the rest has rotted away. This represents Dionysus as a Dying and Reborn God, who ushers in new golden life from the skeleton of the last.

This rosary is 24 inches long in the section that is worn around the neck and dangles 8.5 inches vertically from the top of the cross-piece to the bottom of the pendant.

There are a variety of metals included in this piece, including: lead and nickel free gold-tone alloy, as well as gold plated iron, brass, and stainless steel. These metals can tarnish with use, though this can be avoided with care. To avoid tarnishing, avoid contact with liquids whenever possible and let any cosmetics, lotions, or perfumes/colognes dry completely before putting on your necklace. Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Keeping your jewelry in a sealed container, such as a jewelry box or plastic bag, can prevent tarnishing by limiting exposure to air, sunlight, heat, and moisture. This is best done if air is pushed out of any plastic bag before sealing and with something included to remove moisture, such as a silica pack or anti-tarnish strip. This is not an exhaustive list of anti-tarnish measures, nor are these measures a guarantee that tarnishing will not occur when worn.
