This small batch, ritual incense blend honors Dionysos, God of Wine and Liberation. It is handmade with full pine branches, grape leaf, zucchini leaf, elderflower, bittersweet nightshade leaf (safe for inhalation), benzoin, and gulgul. It was then cured with honey and wine-soaked fruits in kyphi-style, with the fruits included here being apricots and figs. These elements were worked into the mixture by hand and blended evenly throughout before the incense was compressed into an even layer and allowed to cure for a full lunar cycle. It was then loosened and broken up, appearing as it does in the photos. Please note the scent changes drastically with heat; it begins smelling very heavily of wine, but mellows significantly when burned.
Each jar contains approximately 1.7oz of incense. To burn this blend, place the incense on a secondary heat source, such as a lit charcoal disc in a fire-safe container. It can also be burned above a tealight using an incense burner designed with such functions. Please do not leave fire of any sort burning unattended.
