Hekate Kleidoukhos Rosary/Prayer Beads

Our Hekate Kleidoukhos rosary is handmade in devotion to Hekate, the Greek goddess of Witchcraft, the Crossroads, and much, much more. Each bead is wrapped by hand with intention to welcome in Hekate. Wear this rosary to bring the energy of Hekate with you throughout your day, in devotion to this powerful goddess, and to ask for her blessing and protection.

Hekate Kleidoukhos, Hekate the Key Keeper, holds the keys to wisdom and understanding of this world. The Chthonic version of this rosary calls in the mysteries of the Underworld. It is made with walnut wood beads wrapped on gold-tone stainless steel, with walnut being a chthonic tree that has been associated with Hekate's Garden. Each section includes 9 walnut beads, three groupings of three for Hekate Triformis, her triple-faced aspect. Between these sections are handmade charcoal skull beads, with gold filigree both crowning the skull and framing its jaw. The cross-piece is a golden key-hole with swirling patterns engraved on it, while the pendant is a skeleton key. Wear this rosary to call in Hekate Kleidoukhos, that she may grant you her Keys to the Wisdom of the Universe.

While Hekate certainly holds the keys to the Chthonic mysteries, she is also Ouranic, with stellar and solar associations often called in by her Torches. The Ouranic version of this rosary calls in her Torches to light your way as you pass her Gate with the Keys she lends. It is made in the same design, with olive wood instead of walnut wood. Olive oil was often used as fuel for the devotional lamps in Hekate’s temples; the wood of the olive tree calls in her torches through this connection. The charcoal skull beads, in this version, are instead handmade with real bonded alabaster, framed with gold in the same fashion. This form calls in the pale bone of the skulls of our ancestors, illuminated by the light of Hekate’s Torches, by the grace of the Queen of Ghosts.

Every skeleton key pendant is unique; the rosary you receive will feature a slightly different key than the ones pictured above. The two versions of the rosaries are representative of the style of keys your rosary will include.

Please note the video features a slightly different version of this rosary with a bronze keyhole crosspiece, which is now a gold cross piece in the exact same design, seen in the photo. All other elements remain the same.

This rosary measures 27 inches around the neck and 9 inches from the top of the cross piece to the bottom of the pendant.

There are a variety of metals included in this piece, including: gold-tone stainless steel and lead/nickel free alloys. Gold-tone stainless steel is tarnish-resistant and will withstand greater exposure to sunlight and water, however, tarnishing of other metals in the necklace can be avoided with care. To avoid tarnishing, avoid contact with liquids whenever possible and let any cosmetics, lotions, or perfumes/colognes dry completely before putting on your necklace. Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Keeping your jewelry in a sealed container, such as a jewelry box or plastic bag, can prevent tarnishing by limiting exposure to air, sunlight, heat, and moisture. This is best done if air is pushed out of any plastic bag before sealing and with something included to remove moisture, such as a silica pack or anti-tarnish strip. This is not an exhaustive list of anti-tarnish measures, nor are these measures a guarantee that tarnishing will not occur when worn.
