Our Pocket Heqet statue depicts the Egyptian goddess Heqet, Goddess Magic and Fertility. She's depicted here as she often was when she was worshiped: with her characteristic frog head. A likely precursor to the Greek Hekate, she presides over works of witchcraft. Her frog-head represents her association with fertility and abundance, as frogs are known to have an abundance of children. She is known to be a defender of women and children, as well as being the Goddess of the Primeval Waters who gave birth to the sun god Ra. The symbol above her head is her unique symbol, the Greek omega letter, for its resemblance to the uterus. Below her chest is an ankh, associated with her worship: she was prayed to as a divine midwife for help reaching the afterlife, represented here with the ankh symbol. This original design was hand-carved by us before being casted in genuine natural materials using the same process as most pagan statuary.
