Aphrodite Limenia Devotional Necklace

Our Aphrodite Limenia devotional necklace honors the Greek goddess of Love and Beauty, Aphrodite, in her aspect of Aphrodite Limenia, She of the Harbor. These necklaces are handmade with love to call in Aphrodite herself using crystal beads, each hand-wrapped with intention, and vintage jewelry components. Wear this piece to bring the gentle relaxation of the seaside as well as the abundance and safe shelter of the Harbor with you wherever you go.

This necklace is made using sea sediment jasper and rose quartz framing a vintage, gold-tone depiction of a mussel shell, one of the forms of abundance found in the harbor. Aphrodite's sacred shallows are called in through the sea sediment jasper; the version of this stone included is in the soft aquatic blue of shallow water, with webbing bands of beige that resemble the sand and seafoam of crashing waves. In the patterning of this stone are also sections of red, resembling blood in the water, acknowledging that abundance comes with a cost and that to seek the safety of the harbor, there must be a threat we need safety from. The size of the beads gently cascades from largest next to the vintage mussel shell to smallest next to the chain. There are two descending sizes of sea sediment jasper that lead into two descending sizes of rose quartz. Rose quartz, here, calls in the beauty and self-love of Aphrodite. Rose quartz's gentle pink can be lost on someone who doesn't look at it closely, but the rose quartz is pink for its own sake, not ours. While sea sediment jasper calls in both protection and the harbor itself, rose quartz reminds us that we are worthy of the gifts of the harbor.  

Each necklace measures 20 inches in length. The chain itself is made with tarnish resistant gold-tone stainless steel figaro chain. 

Due to the vintage nature of the pendants used to make these necklaces, the three we currently have in stock are likely to be the only 3 made of this necklace. Should they sell out, we will attempt to find more of these or similar components, but we cannot guarantee that this item will return once it's gone. If it speaks to you, we recommend grabbing one for yourself before they're gone.

There are a variety of metals included in this piece, including: gold-tone stainless steel and lead/nickel free alloys. Gold-tone stainless steel is tarnish-resistant and will withstand greater exposure to sunlight and water, however, tarnishing of other metals in the necklace can be avoided with care. To avoid tarnishing, avoid contact with liquids whenever possible and let any cosmetics, lotions, or perfumes/colognes dry completely before putting on your necklace. Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Keeping your jewelry in a sealed container, such as a jewelry box or plastic bag, can prevent tarnishing by limiting exposure to air, sunlight, heat, and moisture. This is best done if air is pushed out of any plastic bag before sealing and with something included to remove moisture, such as a silica pack or anti-tarnish strip. This is not an exhaustive list of anti-tarnish measures, nor are these measures a guarantee that tarnishing will not occur when worn.
