Aphrodite Limenia Necklace

Our Aphrodite Limenia necklaces are devotional daily wear jewelry honoring Aphrodite Limenia (Aphrodite of the Harbor) and all she guards in that realm. Each one calls in the splendors and abundance of the coastline through the shallow waters and shells that can only be found on Aphrodite's gentle shores. Each necklace features a rose gold chain, as both the rose and gold are sacred symbols to Aphrodite. From this chain hangs a golden heart frame filled with the gentle pattern of shallow, rippling water seen when waves come and go from the shoreline. The top of the heart is filled with the seafoam Aphrodite arose from, like waves crashing on the beach, while the point of the heart shows deeper water where waves pull back to return to the ocean. Hanging against this backdrop are small vintage brass stampings of conch shells, embodying the abundance of the coast and its harbors. The rippling seafoam effect inside each frame is carefully and lovingly hand-made with UV resin. We use this material for its alchemical properties of metamorphosis. It transforms its state from liquid to solid using heat and the light of the sun. These properties make unique effects like the one you see above possible. This material has special value in Aphrodite's hands, who transforms humble ingredients and 'imperfections' into sources of perfect beauty. The metals in these necklaces can tarnish with use, though this can be avoided with care. To avoid tarnishing, avoid contact with liquids whenever possible and let any cosmetics, lotions, or perfumes/colognes dry completely before putting on your necklace. Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Keeping your jewelry in a sealed container, such as a jewelry box or plastic bag, can prevent tarnishing by limiting exposure to air, sunlight, heat, and moisture. This is best done if air is pushed out of any plastic bag before sealing and with something included to remove moisture, such as a silica pack or anti-tarnish strip. This is not an exhaustive list of anti-tarnish measures, nor are these measures a guarantee that tarnishing will not occur when worn.
