Aphrodite Limenia Rosary / Prayer Beads

Our Aphrodite Limenia rosary is handmade in devotion to Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of Love, in her aspect as Aphrodite Limenia: She of the Harbor. Each bead is wrapped by hand with intention to welcome in Aphrodite. Wear this rosary to call in the blessings of Aphrodite's Harbor: abundance and safety. Pray with this rosary to deepen your connection with Aphrodite. 

This rosary is made with sea sediment jasper and rose quartz. It's made with a total of 7 sections of 5 rose quartz beads. The gentle pink of rose quartz can be missed by those who don't pay close attention, but that's alright; rose quartz is pink for its own sake, not ours. It calls in self-love by inspiring us to have the same energy as rose quartz: beautiful for our own sake, not that of anyone else. The number 5 was chosen as it is sacred to Aphrodite, embodying the triumph of love and harmony over stagnancy. The number 7 was chosen as it embodies the ability reach both Ouranic and Chthonic realms, accessing the healing of both. Between each section are lengths of gold tone stainless steel chain, chosen for Aphrodite's traditional connection with gold itself. At the center of these chain sections are sea sediment jasper beads. Each of these is the gentle aquatic tone of shallow water with webbed bands of beige, the same color of sand swept up in the seafoam of waves crashing on the harbor's shores. Many also include deep red portions, embodying how abundance has a cost and how we only search for the safety of the harbor there is a threat that makes us feel unsafe. The center cross piece is a circular piece of mother of pearl, representing Aphrodite as the sheltering mother protecting us as a shell protects a mollusk. It also embodies the internal beauty of the mollusk, only found on the inside of the shell, visible to the mollusk itself but no one else, much like self-love. The pendant is a vintage depiction of a snail shell rendered from mother of pearl with gilded golden edges, calling in the blessings of both gold and mother of pearl described above. 

This rosary measures 26.5 inches around the neck and 9 inches from the top of the cross piece to the bottom of the pendant. 

Due to the vintage components of this piece, this rosary is likely to be one of a kind. Should it sell out, we will search for additional or similar components, but we cannot guarantee that this piece will ever return once it has gone. There are a variety of metals included in this piece, including: gold-tone stainless steel and lead/nickel free alloys. Gold-tone stainless steel is tarnish-resistant and will withstand greater exposure to sunlight and water, however, tarnishing of other metals in the necklace can be avoided with care. To avoid tarnishing, avoid contact with liquids whenever possible and let any cosmetics, lotions, or perfumes/colognes dry completely before putting on your necklace. Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Keeping your jewelry in a sealed container, such as a jewelry box or plastic bag, can prevent tarnishing by limiting exposure to air, sunlight, heat, and moisture. This is best done if air is pushed out of any plastic bag before sealing and with something included to remove moisture, such as a silica pack or anti-tarnish strip. This is not an exhaustive list of anti-tarnish measures, nor are these measures a guarantee that tarnishing will not occur when worn.
