Aphrodite Self-Love Rosary

This rosary is handmade in devotion to the goddess Aphrodite, calling on her to help foster, nurture, and grow self-love. One of Aphrodite's mysteries centers on self-love: knowing our worth and loving ourselves enough to demand our due. There are always people and forces in our life that seek to teach us to make ourselves smaller, that we are worth less than we truly are, that we are deserving of any misfortune that befalls us. Aphrodite teaches us to question the voices that tell us we are lesser or undeserving of love. She treats us with the gentleness, kindness, and freely given affection that teaches us to treat ourselves the same way. She opens our eyes to our own worth and loves us so unconditionally that we learn to love ourselves the same way.

This rosary calls on the nurturing, soft, tender aspects of Aphrodite, that she may handle us with such gentle kindness we learn to do the same. Sections of rose quartz in soft pink foster the gentlest of self-love: a velvety rose petal brushed tenderly against our own cheek. Between each section of rose quartz is amazonite in ephemeral seafoam-blue for gentleness and fearless true sight, a crystal clear ocean that allows us to see inside ourselves and know that we are worthy of our own love. It calls in the sweet kiss of seafoam against our skin from a gentle wave breaking around our ankles. In the center is a gold-tone stainless steel heart, for love as tough and enduring as steel. The rosary ends in a pendant representing Aphrodite herself, a gold-accented relief of a mermaid nestled inside a gold-dipped clam shell.

This rosary is made using primarily gold-tone stainless steel, which is tarnish resistant and can withstand greater exposure to water, sunlight, and heat without damage. However, it is possible for these metals to tarnish with prolonged use; this can be avoided with care. To avoid tarnishing, avoid contact with liquids whenever possible and let any cosmetics, lotions, or perfumes/colognes dry completely before putting on your necklace. Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Keeping your jewelry in a sealed container, such as a jewelry box or plastic bag, can prevent tarnishing by limiting exposure to air, sunlight, heat, and moisture. This is best done if air is pushed out of any plastic bag before sealing and with something included to remove moisture, such as a silica pack or anti-tarnish strip. This is not an exhaustive list of anti-tarnish measures, nor are these measures a guarantee that tarnishing will not occur when worn.
