Dionysus Altar Shelf/Hanging Altar

This collection includes hanging altar options curated to call in Dionysos, the Greek god of Wine, Religious Ecstasy, and much, much more. It can be difficult to have large, elaborate altars, especially when space is in short supply. Flat surfaces often need to be put to more practical uses, and you may have many deities and spirits you'd like to have an altar to, but simply no place to put it. Hanging altars are a perfect solution to this problem, as we often have more wall space available than we do on flat surfaces. This is style of altar is especially ideal for witches still in the broom closet, who may not be able to have obvious altars in their space. As animists, we find second-hand items have a unique potency when used in altar-crafting. These items, once cherished by their original owners, have since been given up for one reason or another. They long to be loved once more and nearly sing with joy when they're honored by being included in an altar or place of worship. May they find a loving home in your care!

- Maenad Merrymaking: This vintage altar shelf is made of carved plaster and is light enough to be safely hung. It features a flat surface at the top to hold offerings. Beneath the shelf portion is a rich relief of a songbird, representing the wild music of a Bacchic procession, eating a bunch of ripe grapes, calling in Dionysos's association with wine. This painted relief is nestled inside carved curling ornamentation. The back includes two divots for nails to allow it to be mounted to a wall safely. It is currently being charged in our temple space with our altar offerings to Dionysos so that it will already be familiar to Him when received in its forever home. 
- Wreath of Plenty: Featuring a wreath of grapes in bronze tone metal, this vintage piece is the perfect base for a hanging altar to Dionysos, god of wine. It includes 5 hooks protruding from the front, ideal for hanging rosaries or sacred jewelry devoted to him, pendulums for communing with him, witch's ladders, bells; the only limit is your creativity. Practical pieces like this one can hold items like keys or jewelry that need a home while allowing us to bring our gods into even the most mundane parts of our lives.
