Delftware Candle Holder: This vintage candle holder is made in Holland in the Delft style of pottery. The porcelain is hand-painted with a floral, rose-like motif and sits in brass fittings. It can hold votive or small pillar candles; the portion that holds the candles is 3 inches in diameter. The entire piece measures 5.25x5.25x5.5 inches.
Disir Candle Holder: These unique candle holders depict two women holding baskets, which are where a small candle would sit, such as a chime candle or small taper. They are mirror images of each other and nicely frame an altar, statue, or other sacred space. They are made of white ceramic with pale blue blouses. On their white skirts, a floral motif is painted in matching pale blue. They immediately called to us of the Disir, guardian female ancestral spirits of Norse tradition. These candle holders are ideal for working with female guardian ancestors, to protect the altar they frame. They measure 5x2.5 inches. This listing is for the pair.
