Frau Holle Prayer Card

Our Frau Holle prayer card is handmade in devotion to Frau Holle, Germanic goddess of the Winter and Queen of the Huldra, or Hidden Folk. It is printed on handmade paper that has real cornflowers pressed into the paper itself. The front features vintage art of a goddess with swirling hair leaning down toward children. In legend, Frau Holle leads the Wild Hunt, bringing blessings to those (including children) who complete their work in a timely fashion and punishing those who do not. Her procession is often said to be filled with the souls of children who died without being blessed or baptized; we see Her in this depiction tending to those in Her procession. The back features a prayer that is the creation of the Trickster’s Apothecary and shared through these cards with Frau Holle’s blessing. These prayer cards can be used in the same way saint prayer cards are used in folk magic, as well as for using the image as a focus in meditation and the prayer for communion with Frau Holle.

Each card measures 2.5x3.5 inches.

Prayer is the easiest, lowest cost way to connect with a deity, and speaking with them often helps deepen your relationship as it would with any physical person.
