Hekate Phosphoros Scrying Mirror

Our Hekate Phosphoros scrying mirrors are lovingly crafted from vintage frames, working with the spirit of the frame to rebirth it into a partner in divination. These mirrors work under the auspices of Hekate Phosphoros, Hekate the Lightbearer; like the Hermit of the Tarot, she carries the Light with her, illuminating secrets and guiding us through the Dark, internal and external. A Greek phrase used by some Hekateans is: "En erebos phos" or "In darkness, there is light." Hekate is forever at home in dark spaces, be they caves or the Underworld, and partly because she is never without her own internal light. The Dark holds wisdom, secrets, and mysteries: the very things we do shadow work to find. When scrying, we are peering into the Dark for wisdom, and there are few figures so well suited to shine an illuminating, guiding light into the Dark as Hekate Phosphoros.

These scrying mirrors feature a sleek golden frame that is rounded and slightly convex to protrude into the material world. The rounded curve of the frame throws light in all directions, like Hekate's torches, leaving no corner in shadow, while the golden shade of the frame calls in the warm light of a flickering flame. The reflective quality of the frame embodies Hekate's lunar aspect, bouncing light back as the moon reflects the sun's rays. Like Hekate, this mirror is both lunar and solar: it contains both the warm, solar light of Hekate's torches in its golden color as well as its lunar reflection, bouncing the torch-light back to the diviner to illuminate the darkness.

We have 4 styles available, all with a similar design, though size and shape vary:
Rectangle: features a rectangular frame with gold-tone metal that is bowed slightly at the top with a sphere in the center; it is 3x4 inches while the scrying surface measures 2x2.75 inches.
Oval: features an oval frame and rounded corners with gold-tone metal; it is 3.5x4.5 inches while the scrying surface measures 2.25x3.25 inches.
Fanned Rectangle: features a rectangular frame with a tiered pattern along the edges, like a fan unfolding; it is 6x8 inches while the scrying surface measures 4x5.5 inches.
Rounded Rectangle: features a rectangular frame with rounded corners and an even, tiered pattern along the edge, like a set of stairs; it is 6.75x8.75 inches and the scrying surface measures 5x6.5 inches.
Cathedral: features a 6-sized frame shaped like a cathedral window or doorway; it is 5.5x7.5 inches and the scrying surface measures 3.5x5.25 inches.
