Our Hekate Witch-Mother rosary is handmade in devotion to Hekate, the Greek goddess of Witchcraft, the Crossroads, and much, much more. Each bead is wrapped by hand with intention to welcome in Hekate. Wear this rosary to bring the energy of Hekate with you throughout your day, in devotion to this powerful goddess, and to ask for her blessing and protection.
This rosary is designed to call in Hekate the Witch-Mother, Initiatrix to Mysteries, teacher of spells who blesses our magic and our spiritual journeys. This rosary is made with olive wood beads wrapped on gold-tone stainless steel, as olive oil was the traditional fuel for her lanterns in antiquity. Each section includes 9 olive beads, three groupings of three for Hekate Triformis, her triple-faced aspect. Between these sections are midnight goldstone beads from Italy, where she was once worshiped. The beads contain a natural glittering element, reminiscent of the stars she often linked with through her mother, Asteria. The cross-piece is a crescent moon made of gold-tone stainless steel with the points raised, framing the portion of the rosary that hangs around the neck. The crescent shape calls in Hekate’s lunar aspect, while the gold tone is for her solar aspect, most often seen in her torches. The pendant shows a crystal ball with an eye in the center, cut from gold-tone stainless steel, for her association with witchcraft, scrying, and divination. Three golden keys that are vintage brass hang from the bottom: 3 for Hekate Triformis and keys for Hekate Kleidoukhos, the keybearer. Wear this rosary to call in Hekate the Witch-Mother, that she may bless your magic and spiritual journeys.
This rosary measures 30 inches around the neck and 8 inches from the top of the cross piece to the bottom of the pendant.
There are a variety of metals included in this piece, including: gold-tone stainless steel and lead/nickel free alloys. Gold-tone stainless steel is tarnish-resistant and will withstand greater exposure to sunlight and water, however, tarnishing of other metals in the necklace can be avoided with care. To avoid tarnishing, avoid contact with liquids whenever possible and let any cosmetics, lotions, or perfumes/colognes dry completely before putting on your necklace. Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Keeping your jewelry in a sealed container, such as a jewelry box or plastic bag, can prevent tarnishing by limiting exposure to air, sunlight, heat, and moisture. This is best done if air is pushed out of any plastic bag before sealing and with something included to remove moisture, such as a silica pack or anti-tarnish strip. This is not an exhaustive list of anti-tarnish measures, nor are these measures a guarantee that tarnishing will not occur when worn.
