Nemesis Amulet for Justice

Our Nemesis amulet for Justice honors Nemesis, Greek goddess of Justice and both twin sister and other half of Tyche, the Greek goddess of Fortune. Nemesis is a goddess of Fate who points her accusing finger at those who have done wrong and adjusts the scales of justice when they tip too far in the wrong direction. She has been historically worked with around il malocchio, or the evil eye, in the Mediterranean where she was once worshipped. This amulet is designed to honor Nemesis and ask for her protection, that when this necklace is worn, injustice may pass over you and justice may find those who have wronged you. It is also designed to ward off il malocchio, the evil eye, when worn. 

The center section is made with a total of 5 beads; this number is associated with the triumph of love and justice over stagnancy. Two matte obsidian beads frame an aquatic glass center beads. Matte obsidian was chose for its ability to call to darkness and shadow, that those who would strike at you like a dagger in the dark will find nothing but Nemesis' justice waiting for them in the shadows. The center bead honors Nemesis' connection with the Ocean, seen in her sacred symbology and that of Fortuna, the Roman counterpart to Nemesis and Tyche. This bead is made of sea blue glass, with a band of gold splattered with red across the center. It calls for the tides of injustice to turn, that blood spilled into the water for the greed of gold and wealth may be dragged with the turning tide out to sea to drown. This section is framed by small lengths of gold tone stainless steel chain before each side comes to an oval red coral bead. Red coral has been used throughout history to ward away the evil eye, and here works to that purpose, fending off the ill intent of others and protecting the wearer from injustice. 

This necklace measures 21 inches in length. 

Due to the vintage nature of the components in this piece, the two that are currently available are likely to be the only ones made. We do not currently have more of the components used to make this necklace, and while we will search for more should they sell out, we cannot guarantee that we will find more. There are a variety of metals included in this piece, including: gold-tone stainless steel, brass, and lead/nickel free alloys. Gold-tone stainless steel is tarnish-resistant and will withstand greater exposure to sunlight and water, however, tarnishing of other metals in the necklace can be avoided with care. To avoid tarnishing, avoid contact with liquids whenever possible and let any cosmetics, lotions, or perfumes/colognes dry completely before putting on your necklace. Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Keeping your jewelry in a sealed container, such as a jewelry box or plastic bag, can prevent tarnishing by limiting exposure to air, sunlight, heat, and moisture. This is best done if air is pushed out of any plastic bag before sealing and with something included to remove moisture, such as a silica pack or anti-tarnish strip. This is not an exhaustive list of anti-tarnish measures, nor are these measures a guarantee that tarnishing will not occur when worn.
