Pearls for Pansies - LGBTQ+ Pride Amulet Necklaces

 Our Pearls for Pansies necklace is our offering for LGBTQ+ Pride, honoring queer practitioners and queer ancestors alike. It speaks of found family, community, and the Queer Pride that arises when we have loving support at our backs. Each necklace is a reminder that, no matter where you are, you are not alone; there are queer folx across the globe who share your feelings and queer ancestors across time longing to uplift you. Wear this necklace as a reminder of community and walk with confidence, knowing that fellow queer folx and queer ancestors love and support you for who you truly are–even if those surrounding you may not at the moment. 

Each necklace features a pendant with a preserved pansy suspended in the center of a beaded pattern made of pearls. This pattern reflects the color pattern of the pansies in the pendant. On each side of the pendant, the pattern reads as follows: purple, yellow, white, yellow, purple. This pattern is constructed of real cultured pearls, with the purple and yellow pearls being dyed. Each necklace measures 21 inches. 

We have the following options available:

• Silver: features a preserved pansy pendant in a silver diamond frame, framed on either side by our pansy-pearl pattern described above, all hand wrapped on stainless steel. The chain itself is our Femme 3mm chain (described below) in stainless steel and closes with a lobster clasp.

• Gold (Butch):  features a preserved pansy pendant in a gold heart frame, framed on either side by our pansy-pearl pattern described above, all hand wrapped on gold-tone stainless steel. The chain itself is our Butch 4mm chain (described below) in gold-tone stainless steel and closes with a lobster clasp.

• Gold (Femme): features a preserved pansy pendant in a gold heart frame, framed on either side by our pansy-pearl pattern described above, all hand wrapped on gold-tone stainless steel. The chain itself is our Femme 3mm chain (described below) in gold-tone stainless steel and closes with a lobster clasp.

The pansies in this necklace were gathered near to your local tricksters’ home. Though they were still in full bloom, the company managing their plot had decided to rip them up before their time, while some were senselessly buried under mulch that remained unplanted for weeks. The pearls included in this necklace are all cultured. Each pearl is made from injuring a clam with the addition of sand; these clams were maintained by the company farming their pearls, but sustaining their life doesn’t eliminate their pain. As we crafted these necklaces, we introduced the pansies and pearls. They formed their own found family, based on shared experience. They both were given life to produce beauty, but treated cruelly for the benefit of others. Similarly, they both longed to be treasured and loved in a way they hadn’t been previously. Both pansies and pearls saw their experience echoed in our queer experiences. They have formed their own found family and offer a place in that chosen family for queer practitioners who choose to welcome these necklaces into their home. We hope those who purchase and wear these necklaces feel the warmth, love, acceptance, and support radiating from each piece as they wear them. 

It is our belief that gender need not dictate what jewelry a person can wear. We also believe that gender euphoria can be found in playing with differing wardrobe options to craft whatever your ideal gender presentation may be. We offer multiple options of chain thickness across our offerings to make such exploration more accessible. Our 3mm figaro chain is daintier, lighter, and tends to read as more feminine: we offer this as our 'Femme' chain option. Our 4mm figaro chain is thicker, sturdier, and tends to read as more masculine: we offer this as our 'Butch' chain option. Different necklaces may have our 'Femme' or 'Butch' chain as its default option, but we are happy to make a personalized version on a thinner or thicker chain per your preference.
