Our Pocket Medusa statue is inspired by ancient Mediterranean intaglios: small carved crests carried or worn as amulets to bring the blessing of the Gods with you throughout your day. It is also based on apotropaic wards from ancient Rome and Greece, where images of Gorgons were included in mosaics, reliefs, and other statuary for their protective qualities. This icon is made of clay and features an image of Medusa turning her deadly gaze over her shoulder, with sections of lustrous locks peeking through the writhing, hissing snakes in her hair.

Our pocket statuary is perfect for daily use as you go about your day and bringing your deities with you for longer duration travel. It is perfectly suited to be an altar tile, focus for meditation, or deity representation in a travel altar, altar box, or other contained altar, for those who can’t leave their altars visible for any variety of reasons.

We have the following versions of this statue available:
- Glittering Granite: features a flecked-stone appearance to call in the stony walls of Medusa's chthonic caves and highlighted by glittering gold in Medusa’s headband, her eyes, and the eyes of her snakes.
- Serpent's Coil: features a deep, glimmering green tone reminiscent of serpent's scales, calling in the snakes Medusa is crowned with. Each of her snakes is highlighted with gold, helping them stand out against the backdrop of her hair.
- Patina: this version is made with bonded oxidized copper, the shade of the patina that forms on copper, calling in antiquity and ancient practices to walk in the footsteps of the ancestors. Each of her snakes is highlighted with gold, helping them stand out against the backdrop of her hair.
- Cave Walls: made with clean white clay to call in the pristine walls of Medusa's chthonic caves and highlighted by glittering gold in Medusa’s headband, her eyes, and the eyes of her snakes.
- Cave Shadows: this version is made with bonded charcoal and features no gold accents, calling in the dark shadows of Medusa's cave where the unwary might meet her frightful gaze; this version is ideal to work with as a talisman & focus for shadow work
- Bloodshed: this version is made with bonded iron oxide, the common element between the blood in our veins and rusted weaponry that spills it. It calls in Medusa as Defender of the Wronged and is ideal for justice magic and shadow work done to learn when and how we deserved better than what we received. Each of her snakes is highlighted with gold, helping them stand out against the backdrop of her hair.

This pocket statue is 2 inches tall and 1.75 inches wide.
