Queen of the Underworld - Persephone Devotional Necklace

Persephone, fearsome Queen of the Underworld and wise goddess of the spring, ate pomegranate seeds following her abduction by Hades. Having tasted the fruit of the underworld, she was compelled to stay there for several months in a year, for each pomegranate seed she had consumed. Persephone steps into her role as Exacter of Justice and Savior, the one to be called upon when appealing for favor in the Underworld, as Dionysos and Orpheus do in their own respective myths. However she may have gotten her crown, she is Queen of the Underworld and has made her throne her own. May she teach you to find your own sovereignty in any situation, no matter how hard!

This necklace calls in Persephone as Queen of the Underworld through the pomegranates that brought her the crown she now wears proudly. The necklace features 6 handmade pomegranate seed beads, for the six pomegranate seeds she ate that sealed her fate and crowned her as Queen. In the center sits a stainless steel pomegranate pendant, with three shining accents of red glass that tie into the pomegranate seeds that frame the pendant. The necklace itself is strung on naturally colored stainless steel figaro chain, for Persephone's unyielding spine of steel. 

This necklace measures 21 inches.

Our 3mm figaro chain is daintier, lighter, and tends to read as more feminine: we offer this as our 'Femme' chain option. Our 4mm figaro chain is thicker, sturdier, and tends to read as more masculine: we offer this as our 'Butch' chain option. Different necklaces may have our 'Femme' or 'Butch' chain as its default option, but we are happy to make a personalized version on a thinner or thicker chain per your preference. This necklace is made using our 3mm 'Femme' chain. Please note that at this time, we only have 3mm chain available in this chain color. 

This rosary is made using stainless steel, which is tarnish resistant and can withstand greater exposure to water, sunlight, and heat without damage. However, it is possible for these metals to tarnish with  prolonged use; this can be avoided with care. To avoid tarnishing, avoid contact with liquids whenever possible and let any cosmetics, lotions, or perfumes/colognes dry completely before putting on your necklace. Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Keeping your jewelry in a sealed container, such as a jewelry box or plastic bag, can prevent tarnishing by limiting exposure to air, sunlight, heat, and moisture. This is best done if air is pushed out of any plastic bag before sealing and with something included to remove moisture, such as a silica pack or anti-tarnish strip. This is not an exhaustive list of anti-tarnish measures, nor are these measures a guarantee that tarnishing will not occur when worn.
